Archipelago Rising (AR) is a firm serving senior leaders in business, policy and the professions in major cities globally. Our work seeks measurable behavior change and business growth for our clients. We deliver a practical vision for growth based on enhancing our clients' expert, professional knowledge, community building and technology applied to immediate problem-solving. We maintain the highest level new knowledge for managing and growing businesses.

We work with clients to identify learning needs, implement teamwork, and create new pathways which enable a learning culture. This includes opportunities for learning the best new knowledge affecting executives’ work roles in addition to user groups and other community-building frameworks for education and market growth. This enables us to bring our clients a practical vision for future strength and growth.

CEOs and senior leaders value new ideas because fresh approaches keep their businesses competitive and help them grow. Your competitors are always trying to gain their advantage- if you’re not moving ahead, you’re falling behind. The onslaught of change caused by technological innovations can be a field of opportunities if your business is a learning organization. Make change work for you.

As a senior leader, you hone your company’s competitive edge by determining how to obtain your goals and making decisions that will turn your vision into reality. You depend on men and women who are your direct reports to implement your decisions. In turn, they will manage the front line employees who will be responsible for actually achieving your goals.

We specialize in turning your idea into a reality through an educational approach which focuses on teamwork. Individual employees and teams sometimes drift out of sync with your goals and your company’s need to adapt. Don’t let new knowledge become "disruption." Prevent that from happening to save time, money, and gain competitive advantage.

Our clients are the senior leaders and C-suite executives who seek to be expert, adaptive learners and leaders. We are generally hired to consult with them personally, their direct reports and group heads and functional teams. Their interests might include: leadership and lifelong learning, marketing and outreach, business development, community building, social and behavioral literacy, cross-cultural and identity topics, including gender, teamwork optimization and skill building, toxic competition and fear responses, neuroscience and genomic of human behavior, developing and supporting creative thinking. We have special expertise and proprietary knowledge, IP and tools in technology enabled advanced learning. For our charitable work, Dr. McClimans is a leader in water topics globally.

Our Name:

Our name, Archipelago Rising, or AR, is symbolic of the way we view our work. We see it as a new way of doing business and a key to staying competitive in an ever changing and more complicated world. Those who learn New Knowledge will thrive; those who stay the same will fall behind. Archipelago Rising is a symbol of elevating the best, new emerging knowledge.

An Archipelago is a group of underwater mountains which have risen out of the water to become visible islands above the surface. By building communities we form Archipelagos of knowledge and talent. We do this through executive literacy and curating knowledge around professional application; activities which produce "islands" of learning, expertise and accomplishment. Archipelago Rising refers to a principled, systematic approach to knowledge curation, intellectual property management, and learning.

Individual and collective learning mindsets form the basis for energetic organizational growth, evolution, and professional achievement. Our view on knowledge focuses on impact; our practices therefore compliment, augment, and at times challenge aspects of the traditional academic paradigm of learning. The idea of an archipelago also alludes to the Greek archipelago because we value wisdom and education practices stemming from antiquity.
